PLANT HOPE 2009!
United Way of Champaign County joined forces with local middle schools on Tuesday, April 21 to plant hope for seniors in Champaign-Urbana. 150 students and faculty from Edison Middle School and Jefferson Middle School, Champaign, along with Urbana Middle School painted pots, planted flowers, presented musical selections, made crafts and shared time with seniors at three local centers. Students visited The Windsor of Savoy, Round Barn Manor and Meadowbrook at Clark Lindsay. The students were then treated to a pizza lunch at the Refinery. The students learned how much fun it is to volunteer!
Special thanks to our friends at the Refinery, Coca- Cola, Country Arbors Nursery and Abbotts Florist for helping to make Plant Hope possible.
