Bob Henderson - Pillar Lifetime Giving Award

Bob Henderson has been giving to United Way for as long as he can remember, which is a very long time! During a recent visit with him he told us that he began giving because his father was supportive of the Community Chest in California and said it was a good thing to do. Being the practical and philanthropic person he is, Bob started giving and never stopped.

When he came here to the University in the 1960s to join the Department of Special Education in the College of Education, he was immediately supportive of United Way. While our records don’t date back quite that far, we know that just in the past 20+ years, Bob has contributed $250,000 back to this community through his undesignated gifts to United Way. We are so grateful he has trusted us and want to thank him publicly for all he has done.

Bob, you are truly a model of what it means to give from the heart and change lives in this community. This award is just a small token of our appreciation for all you have done.
