Our United Way of Champaign County leadership program, Pillars, was established in 1985. Over 1,400 Pillars contributed over $2 million last year - nearly 60 percent of the total dollars raised in the 2014 Campaign. Pillars continue to be the driving force behind our United Way campaign. Become a Pillar today!
We are very grateful for our sponsors. Their support underwrites all the costs of the Pillar program, including the IMPACT newsletter, annual Pillar celebration, new Pillar recruitment efforts and more. Thank you Barham Benefit Group, Busey, Heartland Bank and Trust Company, Martin Hood Friese & Associates, and Meyer Capel.
We're excited to debut a new look for our annual Pillar Book. The Pillar Book is now IMPACT - United Way's Pillar Newsletter. IMPACT is published four times per year and features in-depth articles on United Way's work. The Fall issue is a special expanded edition, which features a listing of our Pillar donors - previously found in the Pillar Book.
Pillar listing updated annually in September.
What is a Company Leadership Giving Program?
A conscious and strategic effort to encourage employees with an exceptionally generous spirit, a desire to step forward and act on that spirit, and a well-placed trust in United Way to make a leadership gift of $500 or more. Across the country, leadership giving is the fastest-growing segment of most company workplace campaigns. Recent surveys suggest companies that have a workplace leadership giving program in place experience, on average, twenty percent higher employee per capita giving than companies without a workplace leadership campaign effort.
